Robotic Storm Cloud's first release in 11 years, Anhex is an experiment in non-traditional recording environments. Using Single Cell Software's powerful Caustic 3 music production studio -- for Android -- RSC composed the album only in "inconvenient" places for short amounts of time. In the car, waiting in line at the pharmacy, stopped in traffic by a train, on lunch break in a break room, and other places best not mentioned.

He employed improvisational techniques and the restrictions imposed by distractions or time limitations, revisiting the pieces in various moods and states. He also approached the software's user interface as a guideline itself for impulsive choices of sounds, measure lengths, or melody.

The result is a strange album of conflicting atmospheres, chaos, atonality, and lurching rhythms. Listeners will either be captivated or driven away. With an album composed as a shifting, impressionistic mood mosaic, the challenge to the listener is to figure out exactly when to listen to the damn thing.
